Professional Drummer, Educator, and Workshop Leader.

Introduction

Welcome! I'm John Randall. I'm a professional drummer and teacher from Stowmarket in Suffolk. I currently teach at Barnardiston Hall School, Old Buckenham Hall School, and Sidegate Lane Primary, as well as teaching privately. I am also a Director of Wikid CIC delivering regular diverse music workshops for children and young adults with additional needs, struggling youths, and those from challenging backgrounds. I am experienced in electronic drums including Roland SPD-30 and SPD-SX sampling software.

Studies

I have had the great pleasure of taking masterclasses and studying Jazz and stick technique with the late great Bob Armstrong for 5 years who sadly passed in 2017. Bob was well know as one of the UK's leading drum tutors. I have since been studying with one of his former students Pete Riley. Pete is very well known in the industry writing and performing for Rhythm Magazine for years and has performed for the likes of Guthrie Govan and Republica.

Experience

I have over 20 years experience performing in the UK and Europe in originals bands, venues such as The V Festival 2007 for Roslaita and Latitude 2011 with The B Goodes, supporting such acts as The Babyshambles, The Foo Fighters, Towers Of London, The Datsons, Sparks, The Jam, The Damned, Chas & Dave, Jack Penate & Neil Innes. I have had the pleasure of recording at Maida Vale Studios in London, been on many BBC Radio sessions including a studio session with Milton McDonald (Session Guitarist for Take That and many others).

I have spent the last 10 years in the corporate and function world playing many prestigious events with The Talent and The Gifted up and down the country including Portugal and Capri.
